So, I read Trevor's post and I agree with 60% of the post. I agree with the notion that this OKC Thunder team is not good enough to beat the Warriors but they are easily my pick to be in the Western finals. Houston isn't good enough defensively to check the Thunder and the Spurs are just too old. Most of the time the, Houston just out shot the other team. OKC can shoot now. Russ is streaky but he can get white hot. He shoots around league average plus he'll get better looks. On shots where he was wide open to open, he shot 36% which is pretty good. And we know his passing and other offensive ability. Carmelo Anthony is guy who can get you a bucket. One of the better iso guys (I know he'll need limit his iso possessions) in the league, which is great for late clock situations. And he can shoot 3s, so spacing isn't an issue, 40% on catch and shoot 3s. Finally we all know Paul George is one of the great shooters in the NBA. Don't forget Patrick Patterson, who shot 37% on threes, can play some small ball five to provide more spacing. Defensively is where the most problem will be. Billy Donovan is a good coach. He knows what he's doing. The wings have good height and are versatile. Most 4s are stand around guys who don't do much on offense. Melo will be fine playing PF. He is still got some weight to him so he can bang with those guys. He can rebound down there as well. If Melo has a match up against another scorer at the 4, Paul George is 6'9" and can definitely handle himself down there Roberson and Adams are still great defenders at their respective positions. Russ just needs to lock in and be more focused which winning games will do. Lock them into the WCF. Trevor stop taking the piss.
